Dating after arm amputation
I've been a bilateral bka for a couple of years now. I do mountain biking, rock climbing competitively, whitewater kayaking, running, hiking, I play soccer for one of my school's intramural team (I'm on the med school's team... My arms and legs never developed when I was in my mothers womb and I was born without them. Sometimes, when I step, I can hear the air escaping it. Decided to join because lately my depression is coming back and I thought it would be nice to share some experience with people who I think would understand me the most. As I was being preped the nurse walked up with a Sharpie (marker) and told me she needed to mark the foot that needed surgery so the surgeon would be sure he cut the correct foot. In the past few months, I have been suffering excrutiating pain in my legs,leading up to the end of last month when I decided Enough was enough! A family member drove me to hospital and after a fast change...but I gave all of my amputation-related things cutesy nicknames. It has taken a lot to get use to life as a quadruple amputee, but me and my partner are getting there.The others in the car suffered relatively minor injuries, thankfully. It was a pretty standard park, there was a sandbox, playground equipment, and a creek. congenital double above knee amputee and left above elbow due to a genetic birth disorder that came into play after an injury. through several surgeries and have ended up having both arms amputated at the shoulders. One of those up for day on the road the next farris wheels. and I am a final year Product Design Student in the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland and for my major project I am interested in creating 3D printed prosthetics. Lost it in afghan, but there is no point dwelling on it i guess. When I went home from hospital, I was unable to walk for 3 months.I know this is an extremely rare level of amputations, and I've struggled to find... I've stumbled before, but I was usually able to catch myself before I fully fell. It has been a year since loosing my arm and was definitely an adjustment, but i have powered through it. (For those of you who don't know I had both my arms amputated several months ago due to cancer). I have been a quadruple amputee for a couple of months now and having to get use to people doing everything for me. In order to create the best possible product I need input from those living without limbs; I... It hit me like a tonne to think what that first realization must be like for those who have...I just worry about my future because i want to do child with someone but i am disabled and i don't have boyfriend because i am disabled. I was twelve years old when I was in a car accident and lost my right arm, two inches below my shoulder. I have been through soo very very much in my life so i figured this would be just another hurdle. I've now accepted how my body looks and I don't care...

I have two prosthetic hooks now, but I still struggle with the little things. I'm on my crutches because of a little issue with one of my residual limbs and I had to bite my tongue before I said something sarcastic about it not growing back... So it can help others who are newly experiencing this kind situation. since i lost my arms and 2 years since i lost my legs and been cancer free for a year too.
